Most function halls and event venues require a barangay clearance for events over a certain guest count or that run past a certain hour, even if the venue itself is already a licensed commercial space. Ask your venue directly whether this is handled on their end or falls on you — policies vary a lot from one property to the next.
If your event includes amplified sound, live bands, or a DJ running past 10PM, check whether a separate noise permit or barangay sound permit applies, especially for venues near residential areas. Outdoor and garden-style venues are more likely to need this than enclosed halls.
Fire safety sign-off matters most for larger conferences and product launches with staging, lighting rigs, or pyrotechnic elements — confirm your venue's existing fire safety certificate covers your setup, or whether your production company needs to file separately.
Build permit lead time into your planning timeline the same way you'd budget for catering or décor. For anything over 150 guests, starting the paperwork conversation at least 6 weeks out gives enough runway to fix surprises before they become event-week emergencies.
